• We have a new puppy -- Ebony. We may or may not be able to cope with her puppiness! I no longer have to cope with throwing old and unused stuff away. She tears it all up for me.
• Despite the pandemic, family members have come to visit us oldsters. Thanks you wonderful people!
• Most of this year has been focused on my bride's progressing dementia. I have been her caregiver for the 6 years since her initial diagnosis. In September it became painfully obvious that I could no longer care for her properly and she moved to a memory care facility.
• My bride continued to deteriorate at an increasing rate and surrendered her soul to God on 9 Dec 2021. Details can be found on the Around the House page.
• I now need to chart a different future. I will probably procrastinate indefinitely.
• In March 2022, I was diagnosed with metastisized, agressive bladder cancer. It was back with a vengeance. I was given 6 months to live, 8 months if a regimen of chemotherapy and immunotherapy were normally effective. I opted out of chemo. The fact that I'm updating this site says that immunotherapy is working.

It's hard to believe I have been without my bride for more than 2 years. The family and friends have been wonderful and have made the grief easier to bear and my cancer just one of those things. I just keep smiling every morning and planning things for the future like it will be there forever. Ebony is enjoying all the attention. She is still a puppy at heart. I frequently speak to folks who have family members with cancer. It is great to be able to tell them to have hope from personal experience.
